Plateau encouragement/strategy change?

I've been stuck at 154-160 for the past 2 months, but I'm determined to get out of it. I got a tutor, I've been reading the Loophole, I'm changing some of my strategies, I'm revisiting certain lessons, I took a week off, etc.

It would just be nice to hear from anyone who has gotten out of a plateau. It's possible, right? And what did you do differently to improve your understanding/execution of test questions?

It's super possible to break through! I was stuck at a 161 for months but then broke through to 171+. My biggest pieces of advice are to:
    1. Try taking sections from the 'back'. Starting with the most challenging questions helped me avoid panicking since you know questions will get easier and you don't have time to overthink lower level questions.
    2. Don't do more than two full RC sections a week (including practice tests). If you want to improve RC scores, just do one passage at a time. This way you can remember your thought process and not be too burnt out when trying new things.
    3. Practice using sections, not drills composed of lots of different tests. This is so you don't accidentally burn practice tests you'll need later on. (So, when you go to drill use the search bar to find unused sections)
    4. Lastly, its okay to be relaxed when you're drilling. This exam is about building strong habits that you can confidently apply during test day, so don't stress so much about the content of questions rather then mapping out patterns.

@FriendlyArmadillo how do you bank away "clean" PTs if you are drilling using PT sections? If I drill a ton of LR sections in the next two weeks will I be guaranteed to have a few untouched PTs?

Which PTs did you prefer for section drilling?

get better at process of elimination. you rarely have to do anything more than that to break 170
