Do you mind me asking why you took the test again this cycle? If you already got scholarships and acceptance to your top school, do you just take the LSAT now for fun? masochism?
Don't mind at a…
Yeah, you should write "why x" essays wherever you have sincere reasons. If you don't feel like you can write something good, think about making a campus visit to some of your top choices.
I'm from Mississippi and wrote a killer why Penn essay base…
My test progressed in a really interesting way.
Section 1: RC. I totally bombed it. Ridiculously hard. Turns out was the experimental.
Section 2: LR. Hardest LR I can remember.
Section 3: LG. Killed it
Section 4: RC. Killed it
Section 5: LR. Ki…
Yeah, I'd file a complaint; that is not a rule that I've ever seen mentioned through LSAC. Sometimes proctors do things that make sense to them, but that are not real rules that you can prepare for. Last year, my proctor wouldn't let us have our pen…
Yeah, that's how I've always been as well @"vanessa fisher" . Last year, I did great leading up to and during the test. Afterwards though, not as much.
I had experimental RC as my section 1 too. It destroyed me; they totally overshot the difficulty level. I've never been so happy to turn the page and see RC welcoming me back from the break. I wish they'd consider how that affects people through the…
I like to have as much on my desk as possible. There's something comforting about having familiar objects around. If it's allowed I've got it. I think the addition of tissues covers everything except a pencil sharpener.
Coffee for me: Guatemala El Injerto Natural from Equator Coffee. Probably the best coffee of the year for me. It's the kind of coffee that makes you eager to go to sleep so that you can get up and drink it already.
For better or worse, it's over for me tomorrow. I'm as good as I'll ever be, and I've already got a seat waiting for me at my top choice school. If I crush it, I'll be competitive for scholarships. If I don't, then that's fine too.
Yeah, this is just out of date. They only started printing the picture on the admit ticket a few tests ago. Used to have to print the ticket and then use a piece of scotch tape to attach the picture, lol.
I think Sami's experience is interesting because it's objective and blind, unlike all the other reports on this topic I've seen. Back in the day, everyone thought the 60's were different and harder. We don't see that as being the case anymore. It's …
Like Alex, I don't want to be a lawyer. I think I'll be a very effective one though, and if I apply myself in the right direction, I think I can help people, maybe even large populations if I can affect policy. If I were doing what I wanted, things …
RC is a section that really has a lot of strategic diversity. Some people need to really take their time in the questions, be careful, look back to the passage to find and confirm answers. This forces them to read quickly. Others need a better grasp…

@shanedrider that makes sense, thank you! is it okay to re-do RC passages? (like we do with LG)
Absolutely. I love redoing passages a few months after seeing them. On the second read, my understanding is obviously inflat…

@"Cant Get Right" haha may I ask why? :O
Absolutely, haha. It writes really dark for starts. Most other pencils look really weak and unsubstantial next to it. For being so used to reading ink, it's quite a nice attribu…
I've found that the foolproof method works by reinforcing the unique ways in which certain rules work in combination. For example, a block rule in a sequencing game typically exerts similar pressures on different boards, and we want to master this d…
It really, really depends, as Alex points out. Personally, for my goals and abilities, it was not. It took me about a year and a half. But I wanted a 170, and wasn't smart enough to do it any faster, lol. I got there through hard work and lots of it…
A parallel to your parallel:
The Crayon Pony Fish lights up in an abrupt series of flashes and colors. While leopard sharks don't eat electric jellyfish, non electric fish like the crayon pony fish need to confuse the leopard shark to escape. Scien…
I think a lot of the LSAT predictive ability is in being able to figure out how to work effectively. Most of us aren't challenged in UG in quite the same way as the LSAT. The LSAT requires us to take it to the next level and our ability to do that w…

Haha it definitely threw me off for my first section, but by the second section, I was back in my rythme. Definitely a great learning experience
Yeah, a rough first section isn't too unexpected. Good job on finding your groove…
