  • Hi! Not currently in the Bay Area, but did apply to Berkeley. Been ghosted so far though and guessing it's not going to happen haha. But I do think the Bay Area is lovely and would happily be a resident there, for law school or longer.

  • @StephenASmith said: isn't this all self-reported data? Yes. (Except for the ABA 509 I linked to above.)
  • I think it really depends and you don’t have all the info yet. Like, Notre Dame with a really good scholarship is a solid outcome. Michigan State and Wayne State? Maybe not. It also depends on what you want your outcome to be. Are you shooting for P…
  • Oh yeah, you just mean like a monitor? It’s pretty simple. You might have to get an adapter cable of some sort, depending on the monitor and your laptop. This is how we have our set up at my office, we all have Mac laptops with external monitors.

  • @LSATcantwin At the very least, you can (rightfully!) pin some of your results as just being because of January applications.
  • It's obviously a really personal choice, but unless you are surprised with a big scholarship to a good school, I think you might be better off applying next year. It sounds like you were still improving on the LSAT. If you could bump up a few points…
  • @BinghamtonDave said: I've never come across Berkley giving that much. It doesn't look like they give it out much, but if you sort by $$ on LSN, there are always a handful between $130k and $165k. Their ABA 509 shows 52 students with more th…
  • (Paging @LSATcantwin! Yes, this guy has different numbers. But he's a splitter applying in January vs. September to the exact same schools and getting vastly different results.)
  • @"Seeking Perfection" Yeah, feels like a weird vibe to have some well-off students donating to their poorer fellow students. Hah. Feels like it would make the PI students feel like charity cases compared to their classmates, which is awkward. But g…
  • @"Seeking Perfection" Wow that auction sounds... different. So it was law students doing the buying? And supporting public interest students? That feels really weird. Overall, did it change your thoughts at all on Michigan as a whole? Or anything r…

  • Just a note to say - I would still disclose it though. I mean, I had to disclose 15 year old speeding tickets lol. If somehow it came up in C&F for the bar and you hadn’t disclosed it here, that could be a problem. It’s not the crime, it’s the c…
  • In my C&F addendum, for a few schools that require disclosure of minor traffic violations, I had to do a best guess for 2 speeding tickets that I got almost 15 years ago now. I put a line to the effect of: these incidents no longer appear on my…

  • This is always such a tough call, and a really personal decision. I think GW with possibly less than $50k in debt would be a great outcome for you. It gets you into your target market and they do place well in fed government. I think if I were you…
