Great reminders and excellently organized! I've found #7 (goes hand-in-hand with active recall) has been SUPER helpful for retaining important points. From one ESL instructor to another, rock on! π
Y'all.
I just saw someone else post this on another discussion thread, but for any today/Tuesday testtakers, do NOT forget to click on βReady to Check Inβ before (BEFORE!!!) your 10 minutes is up.
I'm sure everyone registered got this email from Lβ¦
@Jack. sorry I missed your post earlier! Doing the 80s felt sneaky if I recall correctly, lots of borderline cases of like "does this really weaken/strengthen powerfully or just lousily do it but anyways probably gets the job done?" Same with some oβ¦
@delaneyivey28 good to know! sorry you had a rough experience w/ tech issues... did you try contacting LSAC via email? Word of mouth for prior LSAT Flex tests was that they offered some retakes later in the testing week, not necessarily for all techβ¦
Not to freak anyone out, but since this is a legit concern this time around, anyone else planning to reg for October as a safety net since we don't have the benefit of seeing our scores (tbr 9/10) bfr the October reg deadline (8/25)?
Anyways, π€π€β¦
It was interesting to see the text sources for RC passages at the end of the test. There was the predictable bunch, ala The Economist and NYT. I also saw a couple of article from Financial Times and one from an ACLU publication.
@wsowell I see what you mean. I'm not sure then, but whenever I hear the Powerscore scale prediction range analysis podcast eps, it seemed like the range was based on the combo of sections one got. I could also be wrong on that lol, but I guess bothβ¦
@lsatstudying-1, yes, my understanding is there can be different LR/RC/LG sections or "forms". Not sure how many of these different forms/this LSAT there are, tho.
@tealeavesbreadloaves after my Proctor reappeared, she asked me to shred each sheet (whether or not it had been used) in front of the camera. I think it might be arbitrary how many times you have to rip them up each, but I just sliced and diced 3x pβ¦
@mikaylacastagna Nope. She was resistant to my having pens on the desk at first (tho ironically, never used them lol), but I politely asserted that LSAC allows them, and she let me carry on.
At one point, she asked me to change the angle of my webcβ¦
Hey y'all! Just finished and had 2 RCs as well! LG-RC-LR-RC
LG seemed OK, LR seemed standard too. Felt 2nd RC was harder than the first.
1st RC: Winter's case/Native Americans + Don Quixote + Red light shift + GDP
2nd RC: Sentence reduction + Kraβ¦
Yeah, it was really weird, but I remember earlier on in my PT phase when I was on an up-streak with my PT scores (incrementally increasing in the low- to mid-160s with each PT), I remember about 3 or 4 PTs in having what felt like a panic attack, buβ¦
Hmm... A 153 is actually an amazing diagnostic! You're in a pretty strong starting place, so that might be why it's taking longer to solidify progress. I can say this for sure: March-April 2021 wasn't all that long ago, and considering you're just aβ¦
Ah, thank you, @davidbear0! I just took a look at this. Can you think of any others that ask us to begin a new para? I thought I remembered a few like this...
Thank you so much as always, @canihazJD! You phrase those lessons we ought to know, and probably for the most part do know yet amazingly forget or stubbornly fail to apply, in a way that really hits home.
Just one final follow-up on looking at NAs β¦
@canihazJD, yes! Thanks for all of this. I am that person (probably you can tell by the length of my posts) that often gets bogged down by details. Sometimes knowing them helps. Oftentimes it elucidates things in an fyi way, for my own benefit, and β¦
Whew, started this response yesterday, but just now finishing!
@canihazJD, I did note that we were being asked to draw out the "most clearly" inferable statement. I don't disagree that the other A/C just don't cut it. My issue was more with the A/Cβ¦
Thank you both so much for taking the time to reply!
@KevinLuminateLSAT , I was definitely of the mindset you described in interpretation (1)--that thermal energy is, or at least could be, but one of several kinds of radiation that is reflected/emiβ¦
I absolutely second this and can say that even if it's not for a question you'd previously flagged as 'hard,' you can still benefit from answering any #help LR/RC/LG-related question. This makes a fantastic warm-up to start your studies and bonus onβ¦
You can delete it, but I'd recommend you PDF your data first. You won't be able to access the old data (time + chosen answers + flags) again after your delete it. You also won't be able to see your specific highlights or underlines, even if you PDF β¦
@canihazJD, thank you so much - I always appreciate how you ask us to ask ourselves these hard but important self-assessment Qs. You're really amazing at that.
I feel I have developed at least a few of those skills, know I lag in others. But it's sβ¦
