  • @JustinaJ and @emli1000 don't feel bad about it... one of their duties as a prof is to give you a reco and it is your right to get one from them... and as a TA who has actually written recos for undergrads, I can tell you they would be much happier …
  • Once or twice that has happened to me but you must note that difficulty is subjective to everyone... so maybe the 3 is actually akin to a 5 for you. Or maybe you get complex applications but not elemental ones... or maybe you over think simpler prob…
  • @kendallM this is a leak... hopefully it will be authenticated tomorrow.
  • @blah170blah Michigan's decline began ever since the poaching of their top faculty by NYU on its rise.... its been slowly but surely downhill from there... the Detroit thing could be a factor.. just how much is difficult to get. The T14 basically ca…
  • And Chemerinsky without a doubt is the star draw that I would have gone for!!! look at this: http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/cypress/nationaljurist0311/#/22
  • @ddakjiking Oh that is a GREAT school man... I would have loved to go there... what... studying Con Law on the beach with an iced tea by my side would be a dream that I would finally have gotten to fulfill :P Best of luck for that!
  • @blah170blah I wouldn't be so sure of that... there is strong speculation that Michigan's decent towards the bottom of the T14 is a permanent feature... and what Michigan was in the 90's, Duke is becoming this decade. There is also some speculation …
  • @Jenngibre lots of things, not placing as students into jobs as well as peer schools for one.
  • But jokes apart... that was something that was passed down to me as "conventional wisdom"... and it haunted me till I started to give it no credence.
  • @blah170blah we're so wrong my friend... I am willing to GUARANTEE you that you won't be scoring higher than 180 on that test come this June
  • Just in - Duke rejected and wait-listed a ton of applicants today...
  • Got it from another forum... from the forum master... though he said that this seems accurate with the top 10 peek (which does not appear as ranked on ATL but Duke is there and Michigan is not) so this might be true...
  • @kendallM ... sounds good.. try take at least a couple in a Starbucks though... that's plenty noisy... and you might (I hope no one does) end up being in a situation like the one @mpits001 was in... this would be perfect training for such a scenari…
  • Also, the "rankings leak" last year turned out to be false apparently... so I'll still wait for tomorrow.. though the Duke Michigan thing squares up with Above the Law 's peek at the USNWR rankings.
  • Not sure about that one... but yeah... congrats to UCI!!! It beat off some real well regarded schools!!!
  • @emli1000 it is... and makes you wonder about all those theories of natural ceilings that go floating about the LSAT prep world... i.e. that there are people who cannot score more an a particular score... all that starts to sound more and more fuzzy…
  • @jdawg113 fair point... somebody's still going to pay full tuition though
  • Yeah I know what you mean. Moreover, a waiver does not necessarily mean that you don't get to see your letters... two of my referees voluntarily emailed me their references when I was applying to a my doctoral program. However, I had still waived my…
  • @emli1000 if you liked the Barbri song... you should love this one as well...
  • @VegMeg55 good call.. its always best to do that with first year grades if they are mailed to you in an envelop... unfortunately, this is no longer possible as they are disclosed online... I'd throw the computer away (can't fold it into a plane), bu…
  • @ddakjiking Oh ok then - that's awesome!!! Someone's going to be REAL pissed with the leak though I'm guessing Someone's gonna pay.... someone ALWAYS pays - full tuition that is :P
  • BC might be an excellent bet too...they are also EXTREMELY generous!!!!! And an often overlooked school too. They place well in the clerkship as well as biglaw aspects of post JD employment and if you can do well in Ingrid Hillinger's contract's cla…
  • @ddakjiking I think UCI would be an excellent bet and they give money... even VERY late into the cycle... I had a $75K over 3 years offer from them all the way into June.
  • I've tried to find them online and while I an confirm that Duke is in the top 10 and Michigan is not, I can't find the rest of the info for the official USNWR ranks
  • Ok...aren't just snapshots for the top 10 released with the rest being published tomorrow? O.o?
  • I've done it.. taken PT's in a range of environments... Starbucks, a room with pin-drop silence, the library noisy floor, and once with heavy music playing in the backdrop... it definitely is a concentration building exercise... though the majority …
  • @JustinaJ Yes... you should waive your rights to see the letter as it may affect the credibility and weight of the same by inducing the admissions committee to assume that your referee has been less forthcoming about you and you have had a controlli…
  • Though balancing is a tough job... I did it and my doctoral work suffered... got my worst grades ( a B+ and 2 A -s not good at the doctoral level) and reviews in the sem I gave my LSAT in... and not everybody is supportive either... One prof even ga…
  • Yeah ideally when you BR, you should get nothing wrong... BR is where the actual improvement happens...
  • haha thanks for the suggestion... I think you've just found a use for my gift card!
