We don't answer questions in the order they are asked, we answer questions we have answers to first and the less legwork we have to do to answer those questions the sooner we answer them. The mentors, sages and other users are using our own precious…
So for example, the performance of all test takers on the four experimental sections from the Dec. test will be analyzed by LSAC. They will further drill down and look at question by question performance for LR and if they find flaws in the question…
Again, your best shot at that is a mixture of aid since I don't believe many schools reserve a ton of money for full need based rides since they could just get you to shoulder some of the load. Do your homework on each school and figure out the most…
As the name implies, it depends on your financial situation... If you have $0 then you would likely get a lot of money if not a full ride or they might put together a package with grants, scholarships and loans to make up the difference... Totally d…
Get 7Sage and the Trainer and shoot for June and the fall as your backup. Take a week off to decompress and then get back in the game. Too much time off will lead to complacency and you want to maximize the benefit of postponing until June.
All good advice here ^
A good way to get dinged is to start negotiating prior to an acceptance... it is just wicked presumptuous that you'd even get accepted...that's like negotiating salary before you show up for a job interview (since there are c…
Definitely, just keep in mind the selection bias going on, but if you keep your head about you then you should still be able to gain a lot of insight on LSN.
There are four experimental sections: 2 LR, 1 RC, and 1 LG so they essentially make a whole fake test. Some had the fake 25 q LR while others had the fake 26 q LR...
Also to whoever said that a -13 curve would be among the hardest ever you are clea…
I almost certainly did better this time around... December was exactly as I expected it to be with a harder LG and easier LR. RC was slightly easier as well in my opinion since the inferences weren't as crazy as some of the October ones were.
Within each test there has to be a balance between sections, otherwise there would be tests with -20 curves. So if there is a really hard LG then that difficulty must be balanced out with either an easier RC or LR section.
Imagine they want each t…
Get in or don't... get offers or don't... Request offers or don't... Leverage offers from schools to get money from other schools... Generally speaking, offers from higher ranked schools will get you matches from lower ranked schools but it's not as…
When the test comes out it will blow your mind how simple the fourth game actually is. I didn't see it until halfway through and then felt so stupid for all the time I wasted splitting on the wrong rule when the mathematical frequency of elements (r…
FWIW most people apply to way too many schools, and usually that means way too many safety schools. Unless you have money to burn you should really trim the bottom of your list. The lowest ranked school should be one you would be happy to go to and …
Were your 169-171 tests under strict timed conditions? Because if you're really in that range for 10+ PTs you should never see anything in the 150s again barring illness or extreme distractions.
This is not a silver bullet in either direction. Just go with what you've been doing because this is not something that is going to make the difference for you. You need to gain a deeper understanding of the patterns at work in LR across questions a…
I'd recommend about a week off entirely. Then get back into prep. All of you have scores now so you can drop apps anytime. I'd recommend dropping apps as soon as scores come out if you are in range to not get an immediate ding and then just hope the…
I'd say -12 to -14. The LR and RC were definitely easier than October (but not by much) while the LG was much harder than October (given that October was actually very cookie cutter).
A bad score will not hurt you at the top 3 except for the fact that Yale hates retakers. So even if you cancel you're all but screwed out of Yale because they could make a class solely out of first time test takers with a 175+. And you absolutely ca…
