It's not 100% necessary to do for each school, but I do think that it is helpful most of the time. Generally, you should always write any optional essays that they list. If they give you a list of 5 topics and say you can wri…

I am not an admissions expert, but I think it depends on the school and what your stats are. Some schools like UVA , Michigan and Georgetown encourage a Why X, but if your numbers aren't that great, a Why X might be the differ…
I completely disagree with the other commenters. I was in the same place as you about a month ago. I just submitted my first few apps this weekend and have no results as of yet, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I too had obvious diversity to…
Lol a 0.04 increase is not going to sway any admissions committee. And, regardless of any microscopic advantage that they think could occur from this GPA increase, the academic and personal value of having an experience at Oxford will far exceed any…
I actually felt this test was more difficult than when I sat for the test in July. It wasn't even that the questions on this test were harder (except LR def were); I found myself spending much more time in each section than usual. The 3 non-mining g…
How do I tag an admin in this? Feel like the poll was pretty great and I personally would love to see this considered even though it can no longer apply to me
Not sure if this is true, but I read on one of these forums that they can notate your score with something saying that you had adverse testing conditions. It sounds unlikely to me that they would, but again, someone claimed that it's possible so may…

Bring a back up just in case, but LSAC has started making the policy more clear to test centers. When I took in Dec. 2017, there was a ton of confusion with the new rules and reports of people not being able to use a watch like this or a watch like …
Don't sweat it too much; won't do you any good at this point. I have heard people say that it was a hard exam, but I think that not enough time has passed for everyone to make a final comparative determination.
I just posted this on another discuss…
I've found that the best way to boost my confidence and feel prepared for whatever is thrown at me on test day is to figure out the 2 question types that I am weakest on via 7Sage analytics/my own awareness of comfort, and use the 7Sage question ban…

I like the above suggestion to not check a box and to instead put all this in a diversity statement. Overall, I say do what you want, but you need to make sure you can back up whatever box you check. Many of these schools will see you during intervi…
Interesting. Wasn't planning on writing an addendum but now I'm not sure. I'd only heard from admissions officers that you need to explain a score decrease or a score that is low and doesn't reflect your abilities. If you got a score that was on-par…
How much time are you able to (realistically) dedicate to studying each day? If you can pull off 8 hours or more per day for most of the 22 or so days before the November test, you may be able to raise you score 2 to 4 points. In that case, it may b…
My understanding is the same as the above commenter. If you went abroad through an American University and thus technically received a grade from an American university whose classes were held abroad, those grades count toward your recalculated GPA.…
It's doable depending on how long you take to write your essays. If you were someone (like me) who applied to wayyyy too many undergrad institutions (20+), you can feel better knowing that there are far fewer supplemental essays to worry about when …

I would say, based on my own experience, that 6 months would not have been even close to enough time. My diagnostic was 154 and it took me about 6 months to get to a 162 on the real exam with an average PT of 165 leading up to the exam. Much of this…

Personally, I did one of the LSAT digital field tests last year and I wasn't a fan. That being said, I've also always preferred to read from physical paper (i.e. paper books) than from digital devices (eBooks) so maybe others will like it.
