It can be but really it seems to be a geographic thing. If your location makes you diverse, that's good. Beyond that, a school's reputation may be a consideration.

Law school tuition across the board needs to go down a bit. Only top schools should be able to charge premium tuition as the ROI is higher.

For you, maybe it's best to say it represents your past performance. That is to say, you will improve in the future since you under-performed and so the low score represents your past performance. Also could just skip it.
