directly from the deans regarding retakes:
yale: two are fine. three is bad.
columbia: two are fine. three is bad.
nyu: as many as you want.
i have a feeling that more than three is probably not good for most T6.
i do not doubt @Pacifico but i do…
i took my third retake in Dec but only got 169, so i might not be the best person to give you advice. but if i could do things differently - i would have taken my time to think through every and each question. stop looking for patterns in questions…
@Pacifico My point is that undergrad scholarship and GPA are already included in the application and being considered. To restate facts is redundancy not addendum.
I don't find your college scholarship case a strenghener for your argument that you are not good at standardized tests. In fact I don't think that you are not good at standardized tests is worth mentioning at all.
-0 on game (i thought i did terrible on G3 but wow I didn't miss one question? i didn't even understand that game) but I screwed up on RC... good luck everyone. this is my last retake... loved 7sage!!
I think we've all been through this. Blind review going nowhere. Blind review 180 but PT 160s. etc etc. From my own experience, I found it really helpful to slow down at these down times. What I mean by that is, do not rush to get through those …
i think you should just go ahead and apply. get a good reference letter etc. these days the applications are way down and I think you've still got a good chance.
I actually found it healthy to take a break from studying as long as you do not lose your test mentality. Study on a lighter load while waiting for your Dec score. I am sure you did fine! I do pray to God that they gave us -14...
I am sorry to hear about your medical conditions! My sleeplessness was purely anxiety. I don't think any schools take average or look at your lower scores these days (including Yale). With Yale or Columbia, two retakes are fine but I was told thr…
To make you feel better, I probably just slept for 4 hours! Think about this: If you cancel now, would you build up your anxiety and pressure for Feb test? And if you do not cancel, at lease you have a score to lean back on (if this is your first …
Good for you if you just had to guess on one! I actually understood the game fine but I was trying to figure out a way to solve it quickly but failed...
Walking out of the building after the test, I had to borrow a phone so I just randomly spoke to a stranger about how ridiculous the test was (I just had to vent). He was like, what is LSAT? Ha that moment was surreal.
the first and third group members were fixed by deduction. The 2nd group has a few alternative combos. The part that's easy to mess up is their position within each committee.
LR wasn't bad. RC last Passage was rough for me. I think we can all agree that LG#3 was a joke? I cannot think of any clever ways to solve it. Brutal force is just a little better than guessing if you have enough time.
Admin note: No specifics, ple…
My take on this question:
B. While you could argue that the children who finished the program were smarter to begin with, you could also argue that the kids who did not finish the program were below average, which leaves open the possibility that th…
I do not find old PTs helpful in gauging your performance on the test because they are just so different. I find RC much more difficult in modern LSAT. I would not say LGs are getting easier - they are just more difficult to understand sometimes. …
I don't think you need any supplement to the Trainer if you really grasp the fundamentals from that book. I do like Manhattan forum where you can read all the explanations from their geeks. The thing great about the trainer is that it is a systema…
