@NotMyName thank you so much for all of that! I actually just got the LSAT Trainer book in the mail last night, so I'm learning some new RC strategies to test out. I've spent a few hours going through it, and my guess is that I'll wind up mixing som…
I’ve seen him read one at a time and both, depending on the passage. I think it’s a personal preference based on your skill set— mostly memory and timing. For me, I prefer to read one at a time. I hold onto a lot of details in the passages and I can…
@"Leah M B" on the last PT I took, 6 out of the 15 LR questions I got wrong were strengthening questions, 3 were MSS, and 3 were flaw. Clearly, I know what to focus on there haha. As for the ones that I perceive to be easy, I go through them quickly…
@LivingThatLSATdream thanks! I actually do that with ACs pretty frequently. It really helps me, especially if I have to go back and look at them a second time. And I think you're right; I'm going to have to do some drilling and see what works best f…
One thing that I've found to be helpful is to put a mark next to anything that indicates the author's POV. Questions related to that are almost guaranteed. Also, remember that you're not reading for the purpose of a complete understanding. What I me…
I have plenty of experience with messing up lol. Always happy to share. I don't have a ton of experience with self-compassion, but research shows that self-compassion after a perceived failure improves performance. I think someone recently posted s…
The logical opposite of "all" is "some not".

@keets993 thanks! Yeah, it seems like I really need to slow tf down, especially considering how much better I do when I BR and practice outside of PTs. Like there's no reason that I should get an extra 5 questions per LR section right when I BR when…
I think it depends on how you're scoring in each individual section. If you're going like -17 on LG, and you decide to attack LG with everything you have, you should see great improvements. If you're scoring about the same on each section, you'll pr…
It's easier to gain 10 points when you're starting in the 140s or 150s than when you're in the 160s. Once you have the fundamentals down, increases from there become more difficult to reach. But the next tests are in September and in November, so wh…
@eRetaker thank you! I just feel like any answer choice that I can anticipate is usually the right answer, so it's hard for me to sink the time into those questions instead of the harder questions. The easy ones I get wrong are ones that I'm not ant…
I think that because of my interest in medicine and general knowledge of the subject, I never really saw this as a theme. Now that I think about it, I think that this could be a really tough concept to understand-- especially for ESL students. What …
I do the same thing! My practice sections go really well (for me that's like -3 or -4 haha) and my PT sections go -6 or -8. I think that I'm just rushing too much out of fear that I will run out of time. Are you running out of time or rushing to fin…
I think @"Leah M B" has written some good stuff about this before. Personally, I don't think that 7 takes looks any better than 8. If anything, it just speaks to your character-- that you don't settle and that you are willing to work hard for what y…
I would suggest going over some of the misc problems. I remember hearing something about a circular problem. I didn't take the July test, but I remember a circular problem about train stations in a misc problem set. I think that feeling more confide…
Yes, I meant when are you taking the LSAT? If you're testing in September, your plan needs to be way different than if you're studying for a 2019 test.
@NotMyName thanks for the advice! It's just so weird to me that I do so well in my practice problems (sets and question bank problems) but not on my PTs. Like I'll get the questions right that only 35% of people got right, but I'll get questions wro…
Look at the curve (questions wrong to get a 170). If it's like 8 or 9, it's abnormally easy. Otherwise, I find PTs in the 30s to be much easier than the newer PTs. Have you only been using PTs in the 30s?
Ummm... I'm not going to say it's impossible, but it's unlikely considering you're not starting from a low score. Ten points could be fifteen more questions, depending on how you're scoring now. Your best bet is to use the LSAT Analytics function to…
@NotMyName I guess by "not reading thoroughly" I meant that I just quickly scanned through the other answers to make sure nothing else really stood out. If I anticipated an answer, and that answer was in choice A, I didn't spend too much time going …
@username_hello about half of the questions I get wrong are strengthening questions. I'm working on it. The weird thing is, I always do them well when I'm practicing! Today, I printed out the last three problem sets from the CC and got every questio…
