Join Sam Kwak (Stanford, Northwestern), Tajira McCoy (Berkeley), Jake Baska (Notre Dame), and the coordinator of 7Sage's admissions program as they review user-submitted applications. This is your chance to see how applications are read in real test conditions. Ever wonder how admissions officers make decisions behind closed doors? Come be a fly on the wall. If you'd like us to consider reviewing your application, please submit it to us here. We will also take questions at the end of the class.

For this session, we'll discuss several of the most common iterations of the Diversity Statement (Statement of Perspective), how it has adapted over time following judicial scrutiny, and ways we might anticipate more schools adjusting in response to the pressure to pull back DE&I initiatives.
Attendees can expect to come away with an understanding of how these statements differ from personal statements and how they add an additional layer of background to a candidate’s materials. Attendees will also receive guidance on strategizing which experiences may fit specific prompts best from an admissions perspective.
