I think my neglect of RC has really come back to bite me

As the title implies, I don't really train RC that much, I've been focusing on LR in order to get my average down to ~ -5, and hopefully -4, before August test, but I rally haven't drilled RC much, maybe 1 passage for every 40 LR questions. RC is much harder to improve on for some, and I was so tunnel visioned on trying to improve my LR, that I think my RC average of ~6.5 has only consistently gotten worse, with my worst preformance being over these past 2 days, when drilling a couple of spotlight 1 star passages I've gotten 4 or 5 wrong on each. Maybe Im just really bad at spotlight, as it is my worst passage, but I keep being shocked by the results of the passage, seeing ive gotten almost all wrong on a 1 star. Any tips?

Hey, you still have time to nail down some healthy practices on RC. My strategy is to try to understand (not memorized) the main points and feel for author's opinion after the initial reading. Then on questions where a specific detail in mentioned, I read the sentences before and after the sentence containing said detail(s). Anything outside of that, I'd refer back to the passage for exact details.

You can always retake the test, and this is only a small part of your law journey!

I used to struggle really bad with RC too, getting like (I remember getting -8,-9 this Feburary). Today I hit a -1 (-0 BR) on an RC section on my PT for the first time. I wouldn't focus on the star system because it's highly dependent on the individual. Focus on low-level summaries and reading. Don't worry about timing for now and try to get the author's POV and other's POVs down first. Good luck!
