I would love some suggestions, too! What has helped me overall with PTs is skipping questions. You can start practicing this with individual passages when it gets close-ish to your test date. There is no point in sinking 2 minutes into a question-- …
I wouldn't count on a school averaging your scores unless they specifically state that they do. Just do the best you can! And do you mean November 2018?
First, thank you (and your husband) for your service. Second, I wouldn't mention it. It could make the admissions committee wonder if you will need to transfer in the future.
Unfortunately, you missed your chance. It's not a big deal unless you're applying to certain Canadian schools. And November is the next logical time if you were going to take September.
@lemmegetuhhhh well there are accommodations that have nothing to do with the amount of time someone takes to complete a test, such as books with larger print, being able to have access to food/water outside of the standard break, and testing in a s…
@swatowski0 thank you so much for taking the time to write out those tips!
@keets993 I mean the ones that you described as being "less rigid", and generally more confusing... like the correct answer choices are much less obvious, and not necessaril…
I would not get a LOR from someone who doesn't know you well enough to speak to your drive to succeed and overall character.
@TTurner24 it's not dumb! You can only see the LOR if you check off the option to see it. 10/10 would not recommend this. T…
@keets993 Thank you so much for all of that! I'm actually BRing today. I'm guessing my timing was off for RC, but I somehow would up with a lot of extra time on one of the LR sections. That's how I knew I didn't do well lol. Is there a way to learn …
And this is her reply to a comment:
"TA recommendations are OK. We understand that at most undergraduate institutions, classes are not always small enough that the person evaluating you will be the professor him- or herself. So a recommendations fr…
I don't think the fact that she was a TA matters. And I would not ask someone you work with for an LOR since you've only been out of school for a year.

@swatowski0 that's a great improvement just from highlighting! I just finished taking the RC section of PT 65 and got 11 questions worse than my diagnostic. I literally don't understand how I went from -4 on my diagnostic to -15, especially when I t…
You can print the pages of the PT that you want to study... but tbh, I wouldn't sink in time on PTs that old. They're pretty different than whatever you're going to get on test day.
"Drilling and disappointment" hahaha. I think that drilling the questions and watching the videos is really all you can do. If you don't understand the video explanations, write a comment with your question, and hashtag "help" with it.
I would defi…
When the questions are all blocked together by type, you go into them with the mindset for how to solve them. When you have to change your mindset quickly, in the moment, it adds an additional challenge. I don't think it means that you're bad at the…
@achen013 thanks for the heads up! I'm going to practice with a highlighter and see if that changes things at all for me. I tend to underline/circle the "right things" but then don't always notice them when I'm answering the questions. I'll BR and r…
If I have to reread most of the answer choices more than once, I skip the question. If I've gone through my process of elimination and I've eliminated every answer choice, I skip it. If it just feels like it's going to take forever, don't even think…
@"David.Busis" would be able to answer this better than I could. However, I would lean towards "yes" with two cancellations since you have significant factors that led to the cancellations. I'm also sorry that you've been going through so much! Also…
I would definitely use the TA and opt out on the professor. You want your recommender to be able to speak to your non-academic strengths. If he is really your best option, go for it. I mean, you did take 3 of his classes. I'm just thinking you could…
